Antony Field
The first son of two musicians, Antony Field was surrounded by talent growing up. His father, Lawrence Field, was the founding member of Cold Blood, an R&B band of the 60’s
San Francisco Experience - his first album produced by the late Bill Graham - and his mother, Sharon, was an accomplished jazz/blues vocalist and nightclub owner. Though
he studied classical piano for over 6 years, it was not until as a senior in high school that Antony had a hint of his future.
Only after friends and family urged Antony to study singing did he decide to take vocal lessons. At the age of 21, and in the fourth year of college at UC Berkeley, his
future was about to take shape. After college, Antony moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. He has worked at his craft wherever and whenever possible; sitting in
with musicians, and gigging all around the L.A. area. In the winter of 2001, an opportunity came along to submit some of his original material to a movie project.
The movie, “Totally Blonde,” with Michael Bublé, featured two of his songs and gave him the confidence that he could not only sing the music he loved, he could write as well.
A year later, and with more experience under his belt, Antony decided it was time to undertake the challenge of making his own album. The culmination of that desire is
represented in the record “All I Think About,” bringing together his passion for singing the standards he loves and songwriting. His songwriting draws from his history and
surroundings, charging his compositions with a deep emotional impact complemented by his stirring vocals. Not only having performed at top venues, such as the Jazz Bakery,
Antony has already garnered praise from local radio personalities and prestigious songwriting competitions. One of his original works, “A Kiss From You,” finished as a
finalist in both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the VH1 Song of the Year competition, and as a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Competition. Most recently,
Antony, and his group, we’re one of 100 bands selected to compete in the NBC.com show, Star Tomorrow. To quote a standard he is often heard singing, “The Best Is Yet To Come.”
